Description

This workshop will explore the ethical boundaries necessary for storytelling in grant writing.  We will discuss what data you use (and do not use), what and how you share information, and what you actually write in your proposals without exploiting clients and consumers.  We will review examples of cases for funding that are ethical and a few that cross the line.  Be prepared to participate in this workshop as the trainer is interested in learning how you respect privacy and confidentiality when storytelling to present the greatest need.  Does the GPA Code of Ethics play a role in what we present in storytelling? Be ready for group discussions on the most ethical approach to sharing case studies of clients’; stories with funders and share with the group how to respond when a funder wants to meet a consumer of services or post their picture on their own website.

With fruitful discussions, sample narratives, and resources on ethical storytelling, you will have a clear understanding of managing risk in storytelling.
