Description

It is a conversation heard around the world:

-No, we can't pay for something we're already doing. That would be supplanting!

-Or, No, we shouldn't just ask to fund a position. No one wants to pay for that!

-Or, Well, yes, we could do that. But we could also light our pants on fire. Your choice!!

Colleagues, partners, and board members must understand grants but they seldom do. Our work is complicated, yet many of our stakeholders have no clue about the specifics. Wouldn't it be great to have a few simple, clear, even funny ways to help everyone get on the same page?

That is this session. Join us as we discuss easy ways to talk through difficult concepts with our friends and supervisors. We call them Grant Pro-Isms, and they include funny and memorable analogies that are simple to understand, ranging from cupcakes to football to mother-of-the-bride dresses. There's something here for everyone!
