This session will provide participants with the basic information needed to successfully prepare and apply for the Grant Professional Certified (GPC) credential. Participants will learn about the requirements to apply for the exam, what the exam consists of, where they can take the exam, and how to maintain the credential. This session will also discuss the benefits of GPC including the competencies of adhering to nationally recognized standards of ethical practice and how the credential raises the level of professionalism in the field.


Presenter:

David Lindeman, GPC, is president of the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI) and has over 20 years of experience securing grants in international development, science and health, and human services. He is Director of Grants and Development at the Society for Neuroscience and president of Global Grant Solutions, a grants consulting firm. He has served on the GPCI board of directors since 2017 and served as its secretary (2018, 2019) and vice president (2020).

Egondu Onuoha, GPC, serves as vice president of the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI). She is Vice President, Real Estate and Special Programs, Brooklyn Hospital Center, and a Registered Dietitian, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Certified Diabetes Educator, and Fellow, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has obtained almost $100 million in grants over 20 years, served as a panel reviewer for federal and foundation grants, and chaired grant review panels.
